Events
The Northumberland coast is internationally important for shorebirds and there are some incredible natural spectacles playing out right here on our shores. Through our events we aim to help you learn more about the wildlife we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
All events are free, although prior booking is required – booking form at the end of the page.
Below are just a few examples of the types of events you can get involved with:

Shorebirds for Beginners – guided walks and bird watches
Shorebird identification can be tricky, but we can help you tell your sanderling from your dunlin!
These two-hour sessions are delivered by our wildlife rangers from some of our favourite bird watching spots along the Northumberland coast.
Dogs on leads are very welcome to join us too!

Dog Ranger Exclusive guided walks
Exclusively for our Dog Rangers!
During these events, we will go for a walk to see the birds you are protecting, and talk about the best places to have a good run and splash in the sea without disturbing wildlife.
Some walking on the lead will be required, but there will be a chance to have run along the beach too!

Pop-up Events and Stalls
Set up with our eye-catching gazebo, flag and models of our feathered friends!
Come and see us at some fantastic spots along the coast to learn about our incredible shorebirds.
We’ll have our telescopes set up too to get great views of the birds using the shore.
